Garden Rain

“The rain to the wind said,
You push and I'll pelt.'
They so smote the garden bed
That the flowers actually knelt,
And lay lodged--though not dead.
I know how the flowers felt.”
                             - Robert Frost

The rain is wondrous, in fact we owe much of our food cultivation to the mere fact that it rains. Today in the garden, despite the gray sky of hovering clouds filled with water, tints of green and red were brighter than ever. Kale and red romaine collected rain drops on their leaves as the soil soaked up more water than necessary.

Fall Harvest

We received a bounty of red cherry and orange heirloom tomatoes at the start of last semester. What delicious salsa was made!  During the fall/winter we have been growing lettuce, artichoke, chilies, and bok choy. We will soon start planting for the spring, so be on the look out for upcoming gardening days.....We always need helping hands :)

Growing at the Garden

Welcome back, Students!
The 2012-2013 school year is about to begin.
We are so excited for the possibilities of growth this year.  We see our garden as a place for big dreams and the joy of witnessing the miracle of new life.  We see growing leaps and bounds this year with you, join the journey!

GreenTeam Hike

GreenTeam loves to hike.  It is a dramatic way to turn off the distractions of the world and tune into some serious body and soul time.  Being able to walk, one foot in front of the other, is a blessing in itself from God and we appreciate this more by experiencing it, along with fun and fellowship alongside our friends.
We would like to extend the welcome to our whole community to join us on future hikes during the school year.
Learn more about all our upcoming events, like a GT Hike, for the 2012-2013 school year by stopping to chat with us at New Student Orientation Waves Expo or email us directly.

Reminiscence

Former Presidents of GreenTeam, Emilyrose Reeder and Clifford Champion, measure out the spaces for where each garden box would go.  Melanie Sollitt, former GT Vice President, in the middle helping out. Spring 2011.

"I remember well the labour of love it was to build the garden.  It was terrific then and terrific now." -Emilyrose
